Point Fiber Optic Temperature Sensors for Electrically Isolated Measurement

INNO fiber optic temperature probes use fluorescence-based point sensing for direct temperature measurement at a selected physical location. The optical sensing path is electrically isolated and provides high EMI immunity, making the probes suitable for electrical equipment and other measurement environments where conventional electrical sensor wiring requires additional consideration.

Different probe constructions are available for winding measurement, busbar and bolt connections, motors, MRI and RF environments, high- and low-temperature measurement, and other industrial applications.

How do I choose the right fiber optic temperature probe?

Can one fiber optic temperature probe measure multiple locations?

No. A point fiber optic temperature probe normally measures one installed physical location. Multiple locations require multiple probes.

How many monitoring channels do I need?

For point sensing, the number of active channels normally follows the number of independent temperature points measured simultaneously.

Can the fiber length be customized?

Yes, depending on the probe configuration. The required length should be based on the actual internal and external routing between the sensing point and monitoring instrument.

Can fiber optic temperature sensors connect to PLC or SCADA?

The probe does not normally connect directly to PLC or SCADA. Temperature data is converted by a compatible monitoring instrument, which can provide supported industrial interfaces.
